The first generation of winemakers from the Charmet family came to settle on the hillside of the Ronze in the 1650s. With this rich history, each generation has improved upon the work of the last, in search for quality and terroir expression. The quality of the wines can be attributed not only to the geology, climate and age of the vines, but also to the careful cultivation methods in the vineyard. Winter pruning, manual bud selection and limiting yields provides canopy aeration, naturally limiting disease. Dense plantings encourage concentration of the grapes, which are hand harvested to maintain very high quality, resulting in wines with finesse and nuance.
